Where our sofa beds come from

Modern sofa beds have improved a lot compared to earlier models. Today you don't have to remove and store the seat and back cushions any more to open the bed. The so-called "Italian mechanism" folds them below the bed. Mattresses also are much better today and up to 17 cm thick. Nevertheless, sofa beds are not suitable to continously replace a bed. They are, however, a good option if you don't have enough guest rooms or need to use the guest room for other purposes, too.
